About these terms
Wavebook is run by FALAISE.IO (“we”). These terms apply whenever you use it: the website at wavebook.cloud, the app at app.wavebook.cloud and the links people share from it. By creating an account or using a link, you accept them; if you use Wavebook for a company, you accept them on its behalf too. You must be 16 or over.
They’re published in English, French and Swedish. If the versions ever differ, the French one prevails. How we handle personal data is set out in the privacy policy.
The beta
Wavebook is in beta. It’s free during the beta, open to the people we invite, and it changes as we learn: features may move, change or go.
If we introduce paid plans, we’ll tell you well in advance, and nothing will be charged without your agreement. If we end the beta, you’ll have at least 30 days’ notice to download your work.
Your account
Use an email address you can reach and keep access to it: it’s how you sign in. One account per person. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
Your music and files
Your work stays yours. You keep every right to the music, files, notes and details you put into Wavebook.
So that we can run Wavebook, you allow us to store, copy, convert, measure and stream your content, and to show it to the people you choose to share it with, worldwide and free of charge, for as long as it’s in Wavebook. This permission is only for running the service. It ends when you delete the content, apart from copies in backups until they roll over.
You confirm that you have the rights you need for what you upload, reference tracks used for comparison included, and that sharing it doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights.
Dropbox and Google Drive
If you connect a cloud, Wavebook works in it on your behalf, as the privacy policy describes. Your use of Dropbox or Google Drive is governed by their own terms; we aren’t responsible for their service, its availability or your storage space there.
Using Wavebook fairly
Please don’t:
- upload content you have no right to, or that is illegal, hateful or harmful;
- use Wavebook to send spam or malicious software, or to collect other people’s data;
- try to reach data that isn’t yours, test our security without our written permission, or get round limits;
- overload the service, or copy it with bots or scrapers;
- resell Wavebook, or present its measurements as your own product.
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Unless it’s urgent or the law prevents it, we’ll tell you why first, and you can answer.
Measurements and answers
Wavebook’s measurements follow published standards (loudness to ITU-R BS.1770) and are computed in your browser. They’re a guide for your decisions, not a certification for a platform, distributor or broadcaster: check a release against each recipient’s own specifications. Answers in Questions come from an AI and may be wrong.
Availability and your copies
We work to keep Wavebook available and your work safe, but during the beta we can’t promise an uninterrupted or error-free service. Keep your own copies of your masters and important files.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we’re liable only for damage directly caused by our own failure, not for indirect losses such as lost income or a missed release date.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer.
Ending
You can stop using Wavebook at any time and ask us to delete your account (see your rights).
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, as described above. If we close Wavebook, or end your access for any other reason, you’ll have at least 30 days’ notice to download your work.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Wavebook grows. For a change that matters, we’ll tell you by email or in the app at least 15 days before it applies. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Wavebook and take your work with you.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If you’re a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you also keep the protection of your own country’s mandatory rules.
If something goes wrong, write to us first: most things are settled that way. Otherwise, the French courts have jurisdiction; as a consumer, you can also go to the courts where you live.
